Meet our Pastor

The Very Reverend Calvin A. Chandler is a 21st-century prophetic voice for the Kingdom of God. He is a dynamic teacher, a practical preacher, and an anointed mouthpiece of God whose humor enhances the effectiveness of his ministry. Standing firm on the Word of God, he preaches and teaches holiness with unwavering conviction. He boldly affirms, as Peter did, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. His divine assignment is to dismantle the evil structures of today's culture and establish kingdom strategies that bring transformation.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Overseer Chandler received his education through the New York City public school system. He is currently pursuing his studies at Touro University and serves as an educator with the New York City Department of Education.

Overseer Calvin A. Chandler is the Senior Pastor and Founder of The Remnant Family Worship Center Inc. in Brooklyn, New York. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Dr. Curtis L. Whitney. At just 14 years old, he preached his first sermon, titled "Stay in Your Place," and has been faithfully fulfilling God’s will ever since. His ministry journey has included roles such as youth pastor, assistant to the senior pastor (until Dr. Whitney’s retirement), member of the evangelism ministry, and media coordinator, among others.

Currently, Overseer Chandler serves as the First Assistant at Deliverance Church of Jesus under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Surles Jr. He is also a founding member and director of The Consuming Fire Fellowship in Brooklyn, NY, and a board member of Glory Highway Women’s Supportive Service, Inc. Additionally, he is a member of the Oil of Joy Ministries Alliance, led by Apostle Dr. Patricia A. Wiley. He is also deeply committed to guiding and mentoring youth from all walks of life, earning a reputation as a big brother to many.

Overseer Chandler’s ministry extends beyond the church walls. He was privileged to be part of the Overcomer’s Ministry at the Broadway House Women’s Shelter, where, with the help of the Holy Spirit, many residents experienced salvation, healing, deliverance, and freedom. He also played a pivotal role in helping individuals secure housing and reunite with their families. Additionally, his online Bible study sessions have reached multiple nations, advancing the Kingdom of God and ministering to thousands worldwide.

On May 29, 2009, Overseer Chandler was elevated to the office of Elder in The Lord’s Holy Church. On June 27, 2015, following a recommendation from his pastor, The Reverend Dr. Curtis L. Whitney, and with approval from the ordination council of the Eastern Baptist Association, he was ordained into the Gospel Ministry. On September 3, 2022, he was installed as Senior Pastor of The Remnant Family Worship Center by his spiritual parents, The Reverend Dr. Curtis L. Whitney and Apostle Dr. Patricia A. Wiley. On November 9, 2024, Overseer Chandler was elevated to the office of Overseer in the Deliverance Church of Jesus, under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Surles Jr.

Overseer Chandler is deeply devoted to the Lord, fully aware that he has been called and chosen for this moment in time to preach and teach the unfiltered Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has a great love for children and believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. He is committed to nurturing and guiding the next generation, teaching them that holiness is the path to righteousness and that the wages of sin is death. His favorite scripture is Isaiah 54:17, and his motto is: "I’m not dealing with foolishness in this season... It’s not a part of my assignment," and "Keep your hands clean."
